How to relax?
Getting to the place where peace and serenity is very hard when you are busy. Do you think when you watch television you are relaxing? Watching TV is not relaxing as it triggers your emotions. Relaxing means free from tension and anxiety; you are at ease and in a place of peace. Releasing any tension in your body needs to focus, until you are natural and good at it. Similar to working out you need to practice it and when you do good, it is easy.
Another term for it is to unwind. To release the tension of your body, you need the mind as well to work with it.
These are some ways to relax:
- Practice breathing. It is important that your breathing is controlled. Means you inhale from your nose and exhale from your diaphragm.
- Listen to suitable music. By listening to calming music your mind and body will flow as the music plays. Let the music take you to its course.
- Exercise. When you do body movement with a routine count, you calm your mind and body.
- Take a walk. Not just walking anywhere, but walking where there are trees, or breeze or in the park. You can even bring a dog with you.
- Helping others. By helping others, you remove the stress you are in and doing something good for others makes you feel good.
- Watch fish swim or hear the ocean breeze through. This will place your mind and body in a deep cleansing mode.
- Do yoga, meditation or pray. All this will definitely place you into a deeper level of mind, where you are dwelling in your spirit being.
- Imagine. Imagining yourself in a place where and what you want to be. There is power in our imagination where it can take us to the place of serenity.
Relaxing your body and mind needs dedication and you have to make time for it. With the world we live in, we are too busy with everything but forgetting how to relax. Make an effort to add 30 minutes to your schedule to have a relaxing time in a day.
