Growing your mind: the power of focus
Become more focused, be motivated and successful in both business and life. But some people focus on the negative rather than the positive. To focus is to dedicate the eyes, mind and your undivided attention. But you can’t control what you don’t know. One thing you need to learn is that the mind can be controlled if you know how it works. There are 3 compartments in the mind called the awareness or conscious mind, the storage is called the subconscious mind and the unconscious mind. The power of focus is in the awareness area where our mind is alert, sharply and distinct in one object.
Focusing on your school, relationship, work, diet, workout and other things, that are requiring undivided attention. The ability to control our attention to any task requires a precise mindset of undivided attention. So another term for focus is paying attention.
Distractions are things that prevent someone from giving full attention to something that is important. We need to get rid of distractions, and remove any hurdles that are on our way.
How to focus:
- Set your goal. This will allow you to set your mark or target.
- Practice makes perfect. To practice focus is to practice it. Repetitive programming will become natural in you.
- Set your mood. Allow your emotions to be in tune to it. Like playing music in the background or meditating. Anything that will set your mood.
- Be aware of interruptions or distractions. Being distracted will cause you to be unfocused.
- Develop and challenge your skill set. Challenge your ability and talents by allowing your body to exert effort.
- Be productive all the time. Never procrastinate or be busy. Both of these will not let your mind be focused.
- Love what you do and be interested in it. Make sure it becomes your passion and obsession.
Focus = (direct mind + awareness + motivation + knowledge) – (distractions + emotions)
The mind is the main key to focus, by directing it in one direction. Also the awareness is about you being aware of your environment and surroundings. The need for motivation is very important in focusing on the things you need to do. You develop knowledge when you are moving forward and everytime you are engaged. The knowledge you acquire is filling the mind with information. Don’t let your emotions trigger you to misfocus. Allowing yourself to remove distractions.
Without focus you don’t know your direction, it is hard to obtain results and success. You have to have a goal and focus on it. Focus is important in daily life. It is the main active passive direction you ought to take every single day, if you want a meaningful life.
